You ever get a bunch of good ideas popping into your head, but you seem to never get around to making them happen?
Ever notice how someone else seems to come up with those same good ideas too?
Some people say there are a bunch of good ideas floating around in the ether around us, you just have to reach up, capture them, and do something about it.
Sometimes it seems as though that the good ideas you come up with are customized to you and your interests and the special stuff you can bring to the table. Isn’t it sad when you leave those ideas lying around and don’t take them forward to share with the world? Who knows who could benefit from them? Sadly, they remain stagnant shelved, hidden away in a drawer, a notebook, a forgotten digital folder.
I have a few of those lying around that I’m working now at course correcting. In a moment of inspiration, when I was working through my dark times a few years ago, I saw a whole bunch of ideas unfold before my inner eye very quickly and it was so exciting. I could see, taste and smell what I could bring forward to help people brighten their path somewhat as they work through their own dark times. I barely had enough time to write down the key points of the idea before the concepts frittered away into space.
Now, as a record of that moment of inspiration, I have a single page, with a listing of key points or topics to explore through writing and speaking. Now what? There are so many thoughts and ideas to discuss with other people, learning from each other. So, what to do, what to do?
So, here’s my working plan. For now. Blog a book. Well, actually, blog two books, because the ideas came in two different time frames, with me essentially capturing what I think might be a table of contents for two major themes or concepts or whatever: a) “The Power of…,” and b) “Remember.”
Now, looking at that listing of topics, the two books might expand into more than one each. It’s hard to say at this point. The great thing about writing for the Web medium though is that you don’t have to worry too much about a lot of structuring at the blog post writing phase. Just allow the ideas to unfold, and as they do and are published, trust that an inner structure may very well emerge. Well, anyway, that’s what I’m going with anyway.
Other ways to get the ideas out there is to video blog or podcast them. Interviewing people is another great way to augment the richness of ideas. We’ll see. One thing at a time for right now.
Watch for it over the coming weeks. Baby blog posts exploring the topics of that working table of contents I barely had enough time to write down before the whole concept that appeared before my inner eye went poof. We’ll see where this adventuring writing and speaking into these topics shall lead us.
See ya soon!
